A New Chapter: Investing in Prevention to Keep Families Home

At Family Promise of Cobb County, our mission is to help as many families with children as possible achieve lasting housing stability. After careful evaluation, we made the difficult decision to close our transitional homes and redirect those resources to our Eviction Prevention Program.

In 2025, our transitional housing program served 10 families, while our Eviction Prevention Program helped 52 families remain safely housed. Over the past two years, eviction prevention has kept 116 families - including 169 children - from losing their homes.

These numbers show that preventing homelessness allows us to reach significantly more families while reducing the trauma children experience when they lose their housing. Keeping families in their existing homes benefits everyone. Children can remain in their schools, maintain friendships, and continue participating in the activities they love. Parents can keep their jobs, avoid the stress and expense of moving, and focus on building long-term financial stability. By preventing an eviction, we preserve a family's support network and provide the stability children need to thrive.

This strategic shift allows every donated dollar to have an even greater impact. Rather than helping families recover after becoming homeless, we are helping prevent homelessness before it begins. Together with our generous donors, volunteers, and community partners, we are keeping more children safe, more families stable, and creating brighter futures for families across Cobb County.

Exciting News!

This past month, two vehicles were donated to Family Promise of Cobb County, giving us additional resources to better serve families throughout our community. We are incredibly grateful for this generous support.

Thank You, Massey Automotive!

A special thank you to Fred and Jennifer Massey and Massey Automotive for their generous donation to repair our moving van.

This essential vehicle helps families transition into housing by transporting furniture, household items and other necessities as they begin a new chapter.

We Need Your Help: Gas Gift Cards

One of our greatest current needs is gas gift cards.

As fuel prices continue to rise, we're using gas cards more quickly than ever to help families get to work, school, appointments and housing opportunities.

You can help by donating:

If you have questions about donating gift cards, simply reply to this email or contact us at info@fpcobb.org.

Thank You East Cobb Girl Scout Troop!

The East Cobb Girl Scout Troop recently completed the Silver Award by providing wellness kits for children while their parents attended our Family Strong Stabilization Program. Thank you girls! You were absolutely wonderful to work with.

Thank You, St. Peter & St. Paul Episcopal Church

We're also grateful to St. Peter & St. Paul Episcopal Church for generously hosting our recent Volunteer Coordinator Training. Partnerships like these strengthen our volunteers and, ultimately, the families we serve every day.
