OUR GUESTS
At Family Promise Cobb, we believe that every family deserves a safe and stable place to call home. Homelessness can affect anyone, regardless of their background or circumstances. Our mission is to support families in need, helping them regain stability and independence.
UNDERSTANDING HOMELESSNESS
There is a common misconception that people experiencing homelessness are individuals struggling with addiction, are severely mentally ill, or are homeless by choice. The reality is much more complex. Homelessness can affect anyone and often results from a combination of economic and social factors.

LACK OF SAFETY NETS
Many families do not have a safety net when crises occur. They live on the edge, vulnerable to financial instability, job loss, or medical expenses. When emergencies strike, they have no cushion, leading to a downward spiral.
Without family they find themselves without a home. Lacking support, they cannot rely on loved ones for shelter or financial help. This isolation magnifies their plight, making recovery difficult. Consequently, they may end up on the streets or in shelters, facing the harsh realities of homelessness.
THE SITUATION IN COBB COUNTY
Nearly 10% of citizens in Cobb County, Georgia, live below the poverty line, putting them at high risk for experiencing homelessness. This risk is compounded by:

-
Limited Access to Affordable Housing: The availability of affordable housing in Cobb County is insufficient to meet the needs of low-income families.
-
Jobs that Don’t Provide a Living Wage: Many jobs in the area do not pay enough to cover basic living expenses, making it difficult for families to maintain stable housing.
WHO WE SERVE
We are committed to serving all families in need, regardless of their background. Our guests include:
-
Single Parents: Both mothers and fathers who are trying to provide for their children.
-
Two-Parent Families: Couples working together to overcome their situation.
-
Extended Families: Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other relatives caring for children.
-
Veterans: Individuals who have served in the military, have children and now need support to regain stability.
