The Golf Classic is more than a beloved community tradition, it is a vital fundraiser that powers the mission of Family Promise: to help families with children experiencing homelessness in Cobb County achieve lasting independence. Reflecting on Last Year’s Impact

The 9th Annual Golf Classic, held on August 26, 2024, welcomed dozens of teams and community partners for a memorable day of golf, fundraising, and fellowship. Hosted at Indian Hills Country Club, the tournament raised $58,000 to support Family Promise programs including emergency shelter, eviction prevention, and transitional housing. The success of the event showcased the collective strength of local businesses, congregations, and volunteers working together to address family homelessness in our community.

Since 2014, Family Promise of Cobb County has provided shelter, meals, and personalized case management through its rotational hosting model in partnership with local congregations. In recent years, the organization has expanded its services to include transitional homes like Grace House, Blessing House, and Promise House, offering longer-term stability for families on their journey to permanent housing.

This year’s Golf Classic will take place on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Indian Hills Country Club, located at 4001 Clubland Drive in East Cobb. Participants can register individually or as part of a team. The cost is $195 for individual golfers or $780 for a foursome.

The tournament day begins at 10:00 AM with check-in, access to the driving range and practice green, and complimentary Chick-fil-A breakfast. The shotgun start follows at 11:00 AM in a four-person scramble format. Throughout the course, players can enjoy friendly competitions including contests for closest-to-the-pin and longest drive, plus a raffle and split-the-pot opportunities. A hot dog lunch will be served during play, and a post-round meal and awards ceremony will wrap up the afternoon.
